CNT(carbon nanotube) annexed, Antistatic diaphragm
Suitable for preventing electrostatic destruction of fluorocarbon resin lining valves!
What is a CNT(carbon nanotube) annexed, Antistatic diaphragm?
・We have developed a CNT annexed anti-static diaphragm as a countermeasure against electrostatic destruction in a diaphragm valve whose flow path is made of an insulating material. This diaphragm has anti-static conductivity while maintaining the physical characteristic of PTFE with a very small amount of CNT annexed.
What is electrostatic destruction?
・Fluorocarbon resin (PFA, PTFE, etc.) used for diaphragm valves is applied in many facilities due to its chemical resistance, heat resistance, etc. Fluorocarbon resin has an insulation property that does not pass electricity. However, when it is used as a valve material, it is charged by the flow friction between the fluid and the inner surface of the valve body, and when it reaches the discharge voltage, it may cause electrostatic destruction by electrostatic discharge. Damaging the fluorocarbon resin lining of valve body and PTFE diaphragm by electrostatic destruction may lead to leakage.
Performance
①Antistatic performance by fluid friction
It has low volume resistivity and adequate static elimination performance. With CTX diaphragms, it is possible to prevent static electricity from being charged caused by fluid friction, which is a countermeasure against electrostatic destruction.
②Other function equivalent to current TX diaphragm
Since a very small amount of fine carbon nanotubes are annexed, the valve functions as a diaphragm valve and its cleanliness against fluids (particles, TOC, metallic impurities) is equivalent to that of current TX diaphragms.
③Compatible with our standard PTFE diaphragm
Replacing TX diaphragm of the existing valve with a CTX diaphragm is a countermeasure against electrostatic destruction.
